Jason Parris Fitz-Gerald

Jason Parris Fitz-Gerald, a Guyanese-born East Boston resident, is an accomplished visual artist who creates strikingly graphic and colorful figurative works in acrylic on wood. Fitz-Gerald also paints with fire, rendering images on wood with a burning technique. Thematically, he draws upon childhood memories of Guyana’s equatorial landscapes and events both painful and beautiful in black history; he is a master of commandingly expressive portraiture. Visually powerful and deeply humanistic, Fitz-Gerald’s work is both stirring and touching.

"I love art and the creative process. To produce visually stimulating and powerful images that communicate the colorful and historic depth of the black experience."
